In addition to our newsletter, we also convene a number of in-person events.
We believe that in order to have the most impact on the public discourse and educate people about these topics, we must pursue facts.
In that sense, all of our journalism, whether it appears on the page or the stage, is the same. Our writing and reporting for the newsletter helps us draw the outlines for our events, and what we learn thanks to our events gives us ideas for where to go next with our journalism.
The inaugural DC Privacy Summit, a daylong event that took place in October of 2024, was groundbreaking in the way it convened technologists and policy-minded folks eager to talk through the deepest policy impasse facing the crypto industry—how to deal with illicit finance risks in decentralized systems. It also showcased how advanced cryptographic systems based on zero-knowledge proofs can simultaneously achieve privacy and compliance.
